The Mirror Mould is a typology that is currently relegated to its use for the manufacture of mosaic and/or vitrified pieces of small formats (from 1 to 5 cm) where multiple outlets are used, and due to the way it works, it is very advantageous for this type of manufacturing, with respect to the rest of typologies.
This type of mould is used to press the noble side of the tile upwards, making it possible to manufacture without the need for a tile turner after pressing.
The Mirror Mould is an efficient and high quality solution to produce small size tiles with multiple outlets (more than 50) with the noble face visible without requiring additional turning processes. Despite some disadvantages, such as more complex de-aeration and limitations with spacers, its advantage is to produce large quantities of small-sized pieces, which makes the mirror mould a valuable option for manufacturers in the ceramic sector who focus on this type of product.
