MACER INSTALLS THE FIRST CRS MOULD IN SPAIN

Macer has a great experience in the manufacture of Quick Change Moulds (CRS) and with a wide experience applying this technology internationally, but paradoxically, no mould of these characteristics had been implemented in Spain yet. Marazzi, a world leader in the manufacture and marketing of ceramic tiles, together with Macer, are pioneers in Spain by installing the first mould adapted for Sacmi’s CRS presses in their factory in Castellón de la Plana.

These moulds are designed using advanced technologies and calculation methods to optimise shapes and maximise product quality. The quick change press mould (CRS) is equipped with the latest heating and ground suction

systems to facilitate its automatic assembly in the press. It drastically shortens changeover times to one hour, which greatly increases the production flexibility of the press and consequently of the entire production line. Thanks to the permanent magnet fixing method, and a handling and alignment device that allows it to be inserted by a single worker without the need for additional tools. In addition, the mould change operation is much safer, as in conventional presses the change operation is carried out by means of a forklift truck, which is much more complex and riskier than the loading operation in a CRS press.

This capacity to respond and to reach increasingly larger formats as a strategy responds to the trend and increase in demand for large ceramic tiles.
